To Blog or Not to Blog...that has been the question...

Well, my mom has been dying for me to get this going, so, finally, here I go!
I am really not sure where I will begin, what I will use this for exactly, but, as I have been constantly reminded, (hee hee hee, mom!) I MUST start somewhere!

I am not sure who will visit this page, what parts of it will they find intriguing? I love to write, it's just been so long since I utilized writing the way I used to...it's been almost cathartic(?) at times, a way to organize raging emotions and thoughts, sometimes just a need to express!

I am pretty certain that once I get organized, I want to include a spot (?) with my OLD writing... When I was a teenager, I carried around one of those HUGE binders, it's navy blue, writing all over it, just like we did in those days! I had it over full of writing...mostly pretty dark and depressing stuff...it was that work that began my desire to get my writing out there. I wanted to share it with people who were looking for something that would speak to them, "you are not alone"...
Crazy as those days may have been, they were vital in turning me into the woman I am still becoming today! No regrets allowed!

That desire to share my inner thoughts also comes with a fear...of what I cannot exactly find the words to describe...it's just a little overwhelming to imagine putting myself out there, in real time, the emotions that will sometimes come out...

I have to get my pictures organized, b/c I can't wait to add some to this as well...
I guess as the words bring the memories, I will be reminded of a photo that I will NEED to add!

This is guaranteed to be a journey and a half! I am so inspired by the growth that my mom has found by starting her own blog, it has helped take her totally back to her passion with writing, and she is taking an incredible road herself!

Well, it will be fun I am sure...Can't wait to see what happens with it all!

I'm proud of you! You've got a lot to say and you're taking a great first step! Way to go!

Hi Laurinda,
Don't know if you remember me from Kamloops, but I read your mom's blog and decided to come over and encourage you. You'll figure out your direction soon enough...just write! Enjoy the journey!

Welcome, Laurinda, to the blogville family! Looking forward to joining you on your writing journey!

BTW, your Mom's blog is wonderful and I always look forward to reading it.

Yea Laurinda! Glad you didn't wast any time. As to who will end up reading this, at first it may just be family and close friends, but you will find that as you start to read other blogs, some will speak to you, make you want to come back, and others won't. Gradually, the ones that draw you in will become like friends, and when they say something that strikes a chord, you will leave a comment. They will respond to that comment, and click the link back to your blog. And thus, the network begins to weave itself... As for your comment about "no regrets", one of my favorite blogs is called something like "J'ai ne Regrets Rien"(sp?), French for "No Regrets For Me!" She had a veeeerrry tough childhood, used writing to sort it out, and like you, feels like it's all part of who she is today. She had a life-long love of all things French, and now that her kids are grown, has left the corporate world, moved to France, bought an old house to restore, opened a little shop in it, and fallen in love with the guy she hired to do the construction!

Welcome to blogging, Laurinda! I've enjoyed your mom's blog and look forward to reading yours. Already, I can tell that good writing is a family trait:) The best thing about blogging is that there are no rules and you can decide on the direction you want to go as you're writing. Or change directions, it's all up to you.

Enjoy the journey!

Wow! Thank you all for your support and comments!!

You don't know me, Laurinda, but your Mom & I work together at Story Circle Book Reviews--and finally got to meet and hug in person at our recent conference. I know how proud she is of you (and that darling baby) as it comes through loud and clear in her own blog. I'm sure she's happy you're on the blogosphere now too. Just go for it! You'll know what needs to be said.
